Amaara is a boutique skincare store. The objective was to create a finalized logo that communicates calm premium care, feels modern and gentle, and stays legible across packaging, digital, and print.

What the Logo Needed to Solve

Skincare brands win on trust and perceived quality. The logo had to do three practical jobs.

  1. Look premium without being loud
  2. Feel gentle and clean — no harsh edges, no visual clutter
  3. Work everywhere: tiny icons, labels, website header, signage

Final Logo Components

  1. A rounded, minimal Amaara wordmark
  2. A flowing aqua wave element that sits through the wordmark

Design Requirements and Constraints

  1. Small size performance — The identity must hold up at small sizes where fine details disappear
  2. Print readiness — Must reproduce cleanly in one color for labels, stickers, embossing, and foil
  3. Timelessness — Avoid effects and trends that date quickly
  4. Category relevance without cliché — Skincare often defaults to a leaf or droplet icon; the goal was to communicate hydration and renewal in a more ownable way

Process and Design Logic

1. Translating Brand Meaning into Visual Principles

Instead of starting with symbols, the brand was translated into visual principles that could be tested.

  1. Calm becomes generous spacing and balanced proportions
  2. Gentle becomes rounded terminals and soft transitions
  3. Premium becomes minimal detail and controlled geometry
  4. Revival becomes motion and flow rather than a literal icon

2. Wordmark Decisions

The wordmark is the main identifier on skincare packaging, so it was treated as the hero.

  1. Rounded terminals reduce visual tension and feel skin-friendly and gentle
  2. Even stroke weight keeps it clean and modern, and prints reliably
  3. Open counters improve legibility at small sizes
  4. Spacing rhythm across the repeated ‘a’ forms creates a calm, consistent read

3. Wave Element Decisions

Rather than using a generic leaf or droplet, the wave introduces meaning through motion.

  1. Hydration cue without being a literal droplet icon
  2. Revive and flow as a visual metaphor for renewal and softness
  3. Ownable silhouette that can become a secondary brand asset — pattern, divider, social highlight
  4. Aqua color reads fresh and clean while staying subtle

4. Hierarchy and Tagline Decisions

The tagline is supportive, not competing with the name.

  1. Keeps the primary read as AMAARA first
  2. Creates a clear hierarchy for packaging and web
  3. Allows the tagline to be removed in small placements without breaking the identity

5. Practical Testing and Refinements

  1. Micro size test — The wave was checked at small sizes to ensure it does not collapse into noise; a simplified version is recommended for very small icons
  2. One-color test — The logo remains recognizable in a single color version for stamps and labels
  3. Light and dark backgrounds — Contrast checks ensure the wordmark remains readable and the wave stays subtle

Outcome

The finalized Amaara logo communicates boutique skincare through a calm wordmark and a flowing wave that suggests hydration and renewal. The system is minimal enough to stay premium and flexible, while the wave adds distinctiveness beyond typical category symbols.

Final Design

The completed Amaara identity is a calm, premium mark built for boutique skincare. The rounded wordmark, flowing aqua wave, and restrained tagline come together into a system that feels gentle and trustworthy — flexible enough to scale from a foil-embossed label to a website header, while remaining distinctly ownable in a crowded skincare category.
